Development idea

The future of sustainable, attractive and dynamic societies in the Central Baltic region largely depends on the potential of the younger generation. Young people represent a diverse, dynamic social demographic group exposed to various risks. They are, for the most part, economically dependent on parents, communities and the state.

Aim of the project

The project Youth Space set up a creative space for young people and motivated them to acquire new skills and competences for cross-border cooperation and development of joint initiatives.

Main project activities

Part of the work in the project focused on developing participatory and inclusive youth work by designing physical, creative and virtual meeting points. Youth workers and youth leaders took part in training and international workshops for the exchange of knowledge and best practices. By developing a joint virtual space for young people from the Central Baltic Region, they are encouraged to exchange their ideas, creative works and keep themselves updated on things of interest happening in their region. The youth centres in the cities have been equipped with studios, laboratories, workshops and activities that allow young people to be active both in virtual space and in their communities as well as across the borders.
